Colmar is a city in Alsace, northeastern France, situated between the Vosges Mountains and the Rhine plain. Its historic centre is known for canals, narrow streets, colourful timber-framed houses, and buildings with carved details that reflect the region's Germanic and French influences. The Lauch River passes through the district known as Little Venice, while the covered market, old customs house, and former merchant houses add to the architectural variety.

Albany is a small town in Carroll County, New Hampshire, located at the southern edge of the White Mountains. Much of the town lies within the White Mountain National Forest, giving Albany a predominantly forested landscape of mountains, rivers, ponds, and wooded roads. The Kancamagus Highway crosses the northern part of town and provides access to some of the region’s best-known mountain scenery. Albany is also close to Mount Chocorua, one of the most recognisable peaks in New Hampshire.

Xunantunich is a Maya archaeological site in Belize’s Cayo District, located across the Mopan River from the village of San Jose Succotz. The site occupies a limestone ridge overlooking the surrounding countryside and contains six plazas with more than 25 temples and palaces. Its name is commonly translated as “Maiden of the Rock” or “Stone Lady.”

Arequipa, known as the "White City," is built from sillar, a pale volcanic stone that glows in the sunlight. This architectural detail gives the historic center its striking appearance and has earned it recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Towering above the city is the perfectly symmetrical Misti Volcano, which, along with two neighboring peaks, forms a dramatic backdrop.

Namche Bazaar, perched at 3,440 meters in the Khumbu region of Nepal, is often called the gateway to Everest, but it’s far more than a rest stop on the way to Base Camp. Once a trading post between Tibetan and Nepali merchants, Namche has developed into a small mountain town where yak caravans and Wi-Fi cafes exist side by side. Despite its remote location, it has a Saturday market that continues to bring traders and trekkers together, just as it did centuries ago.
